Brief Trips to Sanity

As any of my friends can testify...my life has been one long series of unbelievable but yet hysterical events. Some not so funny at the time...but given time and perspective, they have proved to be the material of great stories that will be told for generations. Maybe my scribbles here will give you some incite into my twisted, but yet entertaining head.

A First for Me..."Hello, Fire Marshall!"

So last night we were in Greensboro celebrating the fact that Cory and a bunch of his friends are practically done with their Master's degrees (Yay, for the getting the crap out of school!) So before the end of the evening we end up in The Blind Tiger in Greensboro listening to The Breakfast Club (an 80's cover band, fantastic) and we're having a great time. I'm enjoying my chic beer and singing along happily and the 2nd set has just begun...when the bartender comes on stage and says that we have to stop, go outside (and it's BLOODY COLD!), and be counted by the fire marshall to make sure we're not over the limit. So sure enough we had to file outside, huddle up for warm, and wait...and wait. Finally, at 1am it is announced that they are 40 people over the limit and that they are being shut down for the evening. At this point, we said good-night and came home and ate junk food and watched the Daily Show. All in all, the evening was still a success...we just had our fun cut short.
