Brief Trips to Sanity

As any of my friends can testify...my life has been one long series of unbelievable but yet hysterical events. Some not so funny at the time...but given time and perspective, they have proved to be the material of great stories that will be told for generations. Maybe my scribbles here will give you some incite into my twisted, but yet entertaining head.

World Cup Fever!

Sunday July 9th is a big day on the world sports scene. I have recently become a huge soccer addict...thanks in part to my nephew's love for the sports (and apparently steadily increasing skill) and the reviving of my previous love for the sport when I was younger. My brother played in high school and although I think he was given the most praise for his work on the basketball court, I think he always really loved soccer the most. While on vacation last week we spent a few morning watching the world cup matches before hitting the beach. Now that Tim has explained the rules to me...I'm all good (kinda like the day I finally learned about the rules of football...I've been in love every since). Plus, in high school the soccer players were always the "studs"...they always had the hot bods, the killer legs and great asses! One German guy ripped his jersey off yesterday in a fit of joy and although he was a bit on the pasty side, his finely sculpted pecs helped me overlook his lack of UV exposure. :)

Germany claimed 3rd place Saturday by defeating Portugal 3-1. Today is the final game. At 1:30pm Sunday, Italy and France will face off to determine the FIFA World Cup champion. Emotionals will be high and I'm sure a great game is only a few hours away. Everyone I've wanted to win thus far has lost...which means that France will probably win. Good luck Italy! (I have a few Italian co-workers who will also be more pleasant on Monday if the "appropriate team wins! :) ) As you can see from the picture...people get into this stuff!
