Hokies, Deacs, and Wins...OH MY!!!

WOW!!! Whatta a week in football boyz and girlz!!! In fact, all in all this past week was a pretty good one all around.
A BIG happy birthday to Nicolle who turned the big 25 yesterday!!! Doesn't that make you a bit sick...I don't know if I should associate with a woman that much younger than me! :) Seriously though, I must say just how thankful I am that Nicolle is on my select list of people that I would trust with my life in this world. As I told her yesterday, we haven't even known each other very long in the general scheme of things; but she has turned out to be one of the most generous, caring, and generally wonderful people I know.
And as a tie in, my dear Nicolle has some great pics that I'll share with you when I get them of the Wake - Boston College game on Saturday in which Wake won (oh sorry Snap for the previous mistake...I was thinking of the Va Tech win last week...sorry had to say it :) )...yeah, repeat Wake won...and is now 8 and 1 for the first time since the 40's. Holy CRAP!!!! Wake students, clad i
n $300 prom gowns and tailored suits stormed the field and tried desperately to rip down the goal posts. Even in spite of the frightenly preppy herd that Wake students are, I find myself proud to be a Wake alum and not so conspicuous when I wear my Wake Forest Football t-shirt out in public. (However, I have placed my free Carolina Football t-shirt on a strict sleepwear rotation.) To make it even better...my Wonderful Hokies pulled out a win against Miami late Saturday night (with a few last second scares) with a final score of 17 to 10.Here's the rub...Nov 18th, Va Tech plays Wake Forest in Winston-Salem...and Cory and I will be there to witness the event. I will be tailgating with a crowd of Deacs and I will be a HOUSE DIVIDED. I have yet to decide how to dress for the event...if I think through this correctly maybe I'll end up on TV. I have a hard time not cheering for my true heritage that makes me bleed maroon and orange...but then again as a recent Wake grad it sure would be nice to see Wake 9 and 1...especially considering that the first Wake football game I attended as a first year graduate was probably attended by 1000 people total (none of which where watching the game).
May the best team win, and may my heart be spared as I erupt in screaming for both teams after every play.
