Brief Trips to Sanity

As any of my friends can testify...my life has been one long series of unbelievable but yet hysterical events. Some not so funny at the time...but given time and perspective, they have proved to be the material of great stories that will be told for generations. Maybe my scribbles here will give you some incite into my twisted, but yet entertaining head.

Bringing Home the Stang!

I just got a bunch of pictures back and figured I would throw a few up at a time. Here are a couple of pics from when I bought my Mustang this past May and of me telling the Buick goodbye. I know it sounds crazy, but I still miss that piece of junk sometimes...but not as much as I love the mustang. :)

Hot Old Dudes and Sexy Pilots!

We spent this past weekend busy, but Cory and I certainly had a good time. On Friday night, Cory met me in Chapel Hill and we went to "Late Night with Roy"...the kickoff of Carolina basketball (aka their first allowed official practice of the season). Cory came decked out all in blue (pansy ass blue as I call it :) ) and we enjoyed watching Tyler Hansborough try to do the dances for the pre-practice show with his less rhythmically challenged teammates (he is the best player on the team, but also the token white guy).

Then Saturday we headed to Winston (apparently the land of the earthquakes...who knew?!)...Nicolle had a wine and dessert party at her place. The best was the unexpected Jello shooters with suspended Swedish fish candies inside. Although it is important to make jello shooters in flexible cups...just a thought that might have been handy for someone before Saturday evening. :) (Although considering they were made by the hot, rich, old dude we forgave him...and ladies, if I were single his age would be no barrier with me...yummy! hehe)Despite a pre-party feast at Mi Pueblo, I still was floating in happy clouds by the third glass of wine...good times!

Then Sunday morning before the sun even woke up, Cory and I hit the road on our way to Goldsboro to the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (why is that I giggle everytime I say Seymour Johnson? :) ). They held an air show that started at 9am and the line to get in took just as long as the road trip (yes, the road trip was about 2 hours). It was slow in parts, but worth ever minute to see those F-15s hit the skies. I've never met a man as sexy as one of those planes. Goodness, fighter jets and a nice set of arms...Kelly's 2 favorite turn-ons.

Still Got My Swingline!

Ok...first of all go to www.myspace.com. Then type in "Justice League Office Space"...and choose "video" and search. Then enjoy!!!

Well, I'm hanging in there...but I officially hate my job. Not only does my boss want a piece of me...but today he accused me and my co-worker of having an affair because we "spend too much time talking alone". Maybe it's because we're working on the same project...it is a convenient excuse isn't it?! :) I keep saying that this is God's way of motivating me to look into my options, so today I went to a seminar given by patent lawyer on the basic rules and regulations concerning submitting biomedical and pharmaceutical patents. Who knows...I may be studying for that patent bar sooner than later.

I would be excited about my upcoming weekend, but the fact that I already know that I will be getting absolutely no sleep has got me exhausted just thinking about it...especially since I have an abstract due on Wednesday for the American Thoracic Society Conference next May in San Fransisco. (I sure could use a trip to SF!) Tomorrow night we are going to Midnight madness in Chapel Hill so that Cory can get his first fix of Carolina basketball, then Saturday morning we have to run errands including getting the oil changed in my Mustang, then Saturday night we're headed to a party at Nicolle's house in Winston, and then we are getting up at the crack of dawn on Sunday and are heading to an air show that is east of Raleigh. I can't wait to see all those jets, but maybe we can watch it from a comfy cot on the ground (and maybe with a pillow and a blanket).

Long Time, No See

Hey all! Yeah, it's been awhile...huge sorry. Now that private eyes have been hired to find me and check my pulse I thought it was time to put my dearly beloved worried minds to rest. Indeed I am living and doing well...however, I have been expending serious energy running circles around the state and well, at the end of the day I've been a little lazy about taking a few moments to reflect on life and catch up with everyone. As usual I owe multiple phone calls and plane trips, but I hope you can at least take this as a token that I have not forgotten you.

I have tons of pictures to post...now that I'm recovering from my months of unemployment certain things are now being funded again, such as film development. (You never appreciate the simple things till you lose them! :) ) I have pics of the day I brought my baby home (I'm speaking of my car in case you're starting to think that we REALLY need to catch up), my Carribean trip with the girls, and a few prized pics of Cory acting retarding (do you know how hard it is to get him to wear my bunny ears...might as well while a camera is handy...hehe). The good news is that my Mom doesn't spend much time on the internet so she won't completely freak when I post my pictures of me swimming with the stringrays!

I'm winding down for the evening...we were out playing late last night. Nicolle, Kevin, Cory, and I met up in Winston last night, filled our bellies (Cory's eyes do light up in a special way when the words "all you can eat" are uttered), and then we hit the Cowboy Mouth concert at Ziggy's. I crashed at Nicolle's and then drove into work from Winston this morning. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep, but it was worth it. We have been waiting on some big news for Cory concerning a job and well, a little more stability for us...so it was great to go lay the stress at the door last night and just have a good time. Although today we got some good news and things are moving the right direction...I think we're both ready to settle down and stop the insanity that is our current lifestyle. Well, much to the dismay of some...compared to Va Tech and Wake, Carolina sucks ass...yep I said it. Those words highly upset my Tarheel alum boyfriend, but he's learned to understand my gripes with the place. I was once told to go somewhere for your postdoc that you won't mind leaving when you're stay is up...well, I think I succeeded in that. I don't hate it, but I know it's not what I want long term. I never thought I'd utter these words, but Cory and I are trying to figure out how I can go back to Winston. We'll see...well, unless I can convince him to go back to Virginia with me in a few years...I have a feeling that the promise of sand and waves will make him bend like butter. :) (well and my charming smile! :) )

Last weekend was the Dixie Classic Fair! I put down a few lbs of cotton candy (and you realize how much cotton candy it takes to make a pound right?) and Cory did his fair share of eating his way through the grounds. After playing with bunnies at the fair, I have officially decided that I want a rabbit...it's gonna have to wait till we have a garage...but one of these days. I did ask Cory for a backyard and a puppy for my 30th birthday next year...let's see if he can make good on that one. :)

Well kidz, it's time for me to watch the end of the NC State - Florida State football game. Go Wolfpack!!! (I'm on your side Lara!!)

Mike...belated happy birthday!!! I hope we can celebrate soon...I'm overdue for my annual dose of drunken song fests featuring all tunes by Britney Spears and questionable comments. (Now I just have to settle with being sexually harrassed by my boss...ah geez...yeah, did I mention that he dreams of me being in a wet t-shirt contest...yep, you read that right. )
